Overview
A top-tier MEP Design Build Contractor is currently hiring for a Mid–Senior Level Mechanical (HVAC) Engineering Team Lead to oversee engineering design, project coordination, and technical leadership across multiple commercial, industrial, healthcare, mission critical, cleanrooms and institutional HVAC projects.
Compensation Base pay range $120,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and support a team of mechanical/HVAC engineers and designers.
Assign workloads, review engineering deliverables, and ensure team alignment with project goals.
Provide technical guidance, professional development, and performance feedback.
Oversee and contribute to HVAC system design including calculations, equipment selection, layout development, and specification writing.
Perform and review load calculations, ductwork and hydronic design, and building ventilation strategies.
Ensure compliance with building codes, energy standards, and client requirements.
Project Oversight
Coordinate directly with project managers, architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
Plan project design phases, manage schedules, and support budget adherence.
Participate in design reviews, value engineering discussions, and client presentations.
Quality Assurance & Technical Excellence
Review technical documents for accuracy, constructability, and adherence to company standards.
Implement best practices for HVAC design workflows, software use, and project documentation.
Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and project execution.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as a technical point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and responsive support.
Provide expertise during site visits, surveys, commissioning support, and issue resolution.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
7–15+ years of mechanical/HVAC engineering experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design software (e.g., Trace, HAP).
Strong understanding of ASHRAE standards, IECC, IMC, and relevant building codes.
Experience managing or mentoring engineering teams.
