Primary Responsibilities The Director of Sales is responsible for leading and managing a team which includes Account Directors, Account Managers, and Account Analysts. The Director of Sales will have responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating and strongly influencing the development and execution of sales, marketing and merchandising programs to retailers focused on strategic initiatives, driving sales, effective assortment, and overall customer profitability. The position will also develop and strengthen supplier partnerships with a cohesive approach enhancing ease of doing business. Essential Functions

DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Setting vision and strategy for Supply Assurance initiatives to strengthen supplier partnerships, drive improved supplier performance, inbound product supply, and ultimately better product availability to the retailer

Drive strategy and engagement plans around supplier segmentation categories

Achieving sales, financial growth, and customer profitability

Develop and execute strategies against annual budgets and forecast

Develop strategies and actions that exceed customer growth expectations and achieve KeHE objectives

Expand our share of available market volume through supply chain consolidation and vertical growth opportunities

Deliver results through effective collaboration and execution with:

Retailer personnel on strategy surrounding supply assurance strategies and priorities.

Internal team members to drive execution of supply assurance collaboration strategy

Supplier and broker partners

Develop strategies that will enhance the connection points between cross functional leaders for our customers and KeHE

Manage the relationship to be mutually accountable to the success of the business

Conduct and prepare executive level communication

Develop an effective team

Train and develop talent in a way that delivers results and adds value to the talent development strategies of the company

Prepare talent to be placed throughout KeHE where opportunities for individual growth exist

Establish trust and communication as a core competency

Maintain safeguards of confidential company information

Other duties and projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Ability to apply knowledge of business and the marketplace to provide business insights and advance the company and customers’ goals

Resourceful, highly dependable, efficient and detailed oriented.

Ability to establish credibility and be decisive while being able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities.

Ability to see ahead into future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies

Ability to communicate effectively by developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of individuals and different audiences. Delivers messages both verbally and written in a clear, compelling, and concise manner. Actively listens and checks for understanding.

Strong cognitive, reasoning, problem solving, and analytical skills

Sel-motivated and have excellent organizational and communication skills

High-energy level and be comfortable performing multifaceted projection in conjunction with day-to-day activities

Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, and flexible

Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment

Proficiency with MS Office required and a thorough understanding of industry, market, and consumer trends a must.

Able to lead a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong process improvement skills.

Must be results-oriented, self-directed, and have excellent time management skills.

Demonstrated ability to proactively recognize and pursue business opportunities.

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends.

Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% by air and stay overnight for business meetings and to attend trade shows: KeHE Shows, Fancy Food, Expo West & Expo East.

Advanced level computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business or a related field is required

Minimum 10+ years of experience preferably in the grocery retail channel with 8+ years of leadership experience
