Associate Scientist, Gene Editing and iPSC Engineering
Base pay range: $37.00/hr - $41.00/hr

Key Responsibilities
- Enable and advance iPSC gene editing, cell line development, and evaluation of differentiated cells.
- Maintain routine iPSC cell culture, passaging, and media making.
- Optimize workflows for CRISPR‑based gene editing, gRNA screening, and delivery.
- Perform on‑/off‑target analysis via PCR and NGS workflows.
- Generate and characterize clonal gene‑edited iPSC lines using flow cytometry, ddPCR, dPCR, and qPCR.
- Conduct directed differentiation of human iPSCs to pancreatic islets, assessing drug substance characteristics such as cell counts, viability, and metabolites.
- Support team efforts to evaluate mitigation strategies for genomic stability of iPSC lines and drug substance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support transfer of R&D assays to GMP.
- Maintain accurate, detailed experimental records and contribute to SOP development.
- Execute work plans and meet deadlines efficiently.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Stem Cell Biology, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field with 3‑4 years of relevant industry experience in gene editing and cell therapy, or an M.S. with 1‑2 years of experience.
- Extensive hands‑on experience with human iPSC culture, gene editing, and molecular biology techniques.
- Proficiency in CRISPR gene editing and cell line development, including protocol optimization and flow‑based sorting.
- Expertise in molecular biology techniques such as construct design, PCR, ddPCR, dPCR, and NGS.
- Experience developing assays including luciferase assays, ELISA, and flow cytometry.
- Hands‑on experience with gene‑editing tool delivery methods.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills with meticulous record keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience with pancreatic islet‑directed differentiation.
- Experience transitioning research‑grade processes to GMP‑grade.
- Familiarity with electronic lab notebook (ELN) documentation.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Additional Information
Position is full‑time, Monday‑Friday 8am‑5pm with occasional rotational weekends to support cell culture. Candidates living within commuting distance of Boston, MA are encouraged to apply.
