Job Title: Associate Litigation Attorney

Start Date: Mid-January

Position Type: Contract (3–6 months), high potential for contract-to-hire

Work Environment: 100% on-site with occasional flexible remote days as needed

About the Firm

A growing plaintiff-side litigation practice specializing in right of publicity (misappropriation of name, image, and likeness/NIL), entertainment, labor and employment, business, and intellectual property litigation. The firm is known for its highly effective, personalized, and relentless advocacy on behalf of victims. Its clients include talent such as fashion and commercial models whose images have been misappropriated by major companies across the U.S. and internationally. The team regularly litigates complex matters in both state and federal courts, including trials and appeals. This role is open due to firm growth and increasing demand for high-impact litigation support.

Position Overview

The Associate Litigation Attorney will manage a caseload from inception through trial, with responsibilities including drafting complaints, responding to discovery, preparing motions, conducting legal research, appearing in court, participating in depositions, and supporting trial preparation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about plaintiff-side advocacy, resolving disputes, and working on exciting NIL and entertainment-adjacent cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage litigation matters from initial filing through trial preparation.
  • Draft complaints, motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and client correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
  • Attend court hearings and handle oral argument as needed.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Prepare for and second‑chair trials.
  • Collaborate closely with partners, associates, and clients to ensure case progress.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of litigation experience, with strong case‑management skills.
  • Excellent legal research and writing capabilities.
  • Active California Bar license in good standing.
  • Ability to independently manage complex legal disputes.
  • Experience drafting motions, managing discovery, and appearing in court.
