Key Responsibilities
- Cluster Management:
- Design, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters on AWS EKS.
- Implement networking, security policies, and IAM roles for cluster operations.
- Infrastructure Automation:
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Automate deployments and scaling of workloads.
- CI/CD Integration:
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Monitoring & Logging:
- Implement observability solutions using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.
- Performance & Cost Optimization:
- Troubleshoot cluster performance issues and optimize resource utilization.
- Security & Compliance:
- Apply best practices for securing Kubernetes workloads and AWS resources.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with DevOps, development, and security teams to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- AWS Services:
- Strong hands‑on experience with EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, Load Balancers, Secrets Manager, KMS, Lambda, and Autoscaling.
- Containerization & Orchestration:
- Expertise in Kubernetes and Docker.
- Infrastructure as Code:
- Proficiency in Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Programming & Scripting:
- Solid knowledge of Python and Bash for automation.
- Monitoring Tools:
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and ELK stack.
- Version Control:
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub.
Certifications (Preferred)
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional.
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
