Technology – Data and Decision Science – Data Modeling – Manager

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Manager of Data Modeling to lead our team in designing and implementing complex cloud analytics solutions with a strong focus on Databricks. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in data architecture, cloud technologies, and analytics, along with exceptional leadership and client management skills.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and translate business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Design, build, and operate scalable data architecture and modeling solutions.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Lead the design and development of conceptual, logical, and physical data models for the Enterprise Data Warehouse, adhering to Kimball dimensional methodology.
  • Design and implement star schemas to support enterprise analytical, BI, and reporting requirements with high performance.
  • Define and model Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD), focusing on SCD Type 2 for accurate historical context.
  • Determine appropriate granularity for fact tables and identify measurable facts and relationships.
  • Design highly denormalized dimension structures to simplify querying for end users.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design data models aligned with business needs.
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories to ensure consistency.
  • Identify and resolve data model performance issues to optimize database performance.
  • Manage and guide a small team of 1‑3 resources.
  • Document and communicate data model designs and standards across the organization.
  • Create source‑to‑target mapping and ETL/ELT specifications, including SCD Type 2 logic and surrogate key rules.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and incorporate new methodologies into data modelling processes.
  • Guide implementation of data modelling techniques such as Kimball.
  • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business intelligence.
  • Utilize industry‑standard data modelling tools (Erwin, PowerDesigner, ER/Studio) for model creation and version control.
  • Cloud knowledge and certification (preferably Azure DP‑203) an advantage.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM.
  • 10+ years of hands‑on experience in data modelling.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and Kimball dimensional modelling.
  • Experience with enterprise relational databases or cloud data warehouses (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Deep knowledge of data warehousing principles, ETL/ELT architecture, data quality, and metadata management.
  • Mastery of SCD Type 2 implementation and familiarity with other SCD types.
  • Ability to translate abstract business requirements into efficient data models.
  • Proficiency in data modelling tools such as Erwin, Visio, or Power Designer.
  • Experience designing database structures and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical models.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for data modelling and database design.
  • Collaboration skills for gathering and analysing data requirements.
  • Performance tuning and query optimization expertise.
  • Cloud certification an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of the Hospitality Domain is mandatory.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to manage complex client relationships.
  • Proven experience leading teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Cloud knowledge and certification (preferably Azure DP‑203).
  • Experience in leading and influencing teams, with a focus on mentorship and development.
  • A passion for innovation and strategic application of emerging technologies.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives.
  • Fluency in Spanish and Italian (preferred).

What We Offer You

  • A comprehensive compensation and benefits package with a base salary range of $125,500 to $230,200 (all U.S. geographic locations) and higher ranges for major metro areas. Additional benefits include medical, dental, pension, 401(k), and paid time off.
  • A hybrid work model with the expectation of 40‑60% in‑person time for external, client‑serving roles.
