13 Weeks | 5×8 Days (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) 40 hours/week Weekly Gross:
~$1,600 W2 Hourly:
$40/hr Work Arrangement:
1–2 weeks onsite training , then
remote
once fully onboarded
About the Role This position supports a hospital coding department in an acute care setting. After an initial onsite training period (1–2 weeks), the role transitions to fully remote work.
Responsibilities (Duties) Perform
medical coding in an acute care setting Utilize strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, Encoder) Apply knowledge of
coding guidelines, payor rules, and federal billing regulations Understand anatomy, physiology, and disease processes Research coding-related issues as needed Participate in coder training activities Use
3M/HDS coding applications Code
Inpatient and Emergency Department (ED)
charts accurately and efficiently
Requirements ✔
Certification:
CCS or CPC (CCS strongly preferred) ✔
Experience:
Minimum
3 years
in medical coding ✔
Systems:
EPIC
and
3M
experience required ✔ Strong background in
Outpatient & ED coding ✔ Able to work independently with minimal training ✔ Knowledge of
ICD-10
required
Education High School Diploma/GED AHIMA credentials (RHIA, RHIT) and/or CCP, CCS
