Compensation: $220,000 - 275,000 base salary + bonus

Overview

We are partnering with a publicly traded manufacturing company in Orange County to help identify a Corporate Controller to lead their organization’s accounting function and support the broader finance team. This role oversees the full spectrum of accounting operations and plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective cross-functional partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of key accounting functions — including Accounts Payable, General Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other operational accounting areas.
  • Lead the monthly financial close process and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of all financial reporting in accordance with corporate and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and review financial reporting packages and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting frameworks (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS).
  • Establish, monitor, and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets, manage risk, and maintain the integrity of financial information.
  • Manage external financial audits, quarterly reviews, and any internal control testing or compliance requirements.
  • Interpret and apply relevant accounting standards to support proper accounting treatment and compliance.
  • Partner with senior leadership and operational teams on financial analysis, forecasting, strategic projects, and ad-hoc business initiatives.
  • Lead ongoing improvements to the general ledger and related financial systems, collaborating with internal teams to enhance data flow and reporting quality.
  • Build strong working relationships across the organization as well as with external partners, vendors, auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance management to accounting staff to support team development and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Public Accounting Foundation is required; Big 4 experience highly preferred.
  • CPA certification required.
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 6+ years in industry roles. Manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Must be comfortable overseeing a large team.
  • Strong technical understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
