Recruiting Manager | Accounting/Finance Focused | Executive Search & Interim Solutions Controller

Compensation:

$220,000 - 275,000 base salary + bonus

Overview We are partnering with a publicly traded manufacturing company in Orange County to help identify a Corporate Controller to lead their organization’s accounting function and support the broader finance team. This role oversees the full spectrum of accounting operations and plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective cross-functional partnerships.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of key accounting functions — including Accounts Payable, General Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other operational accounting areas.

Lead the monthly financial close process and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of all financial reporting in accordance with corporate and statutory requirements.

Prepare and review financial reporting packages and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting frameworks (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS).

Establish, monitor, and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets, manage risk, and maintain the integrity of financial information.

Manage external financial audits, quarterly reviews, and any internal control testing or compliance requirements.

Interpret and apply relevant accounting standards to support proper accounting treatment and compliance.

Partner with senior leadership and operational teams on financial analysis, forecasting, strategic projects, and ad-hoc business initiatives.

Lead ongoing improvements to the general ledger and related financial systems, collaborating with internal teams to enhance data flow and reporting quality.

Build strong working relationships across the organization as well as with external partners, vendors, auditors, and other stakeholders.

Provide coaching, training, and performance management to accounting staff to support team development and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.

Public Accounting Foundation is required; Big 4 experience highly preferred.

CPA certification required.

12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 6+ years in industry roles. Manufacturing experience is highly preferred.

5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Must be comfortable overseeing a large team.

Strong technical understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and systems.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
