Role Purpose
To design and deliver architectural solutions that align with business objectives, ensuring scalability, reliability, and compliance. The Solution Architect acts as a bridge between business and technology, providing technical leadership and guiding delivery teams through design-to-deployment phases.
Skills Required
Technical Expertise
- Core Technologies:
- Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST, JSON, ActiveMQ.
- Microservices architecture, API gateways, caching strategies.
- Cloud & Infrastructure:
- AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform; Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates).
- Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
- DevOps & CI/CD:
- Jenkins, Git, automated pipelines, observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Integration & Security:
- SOA principles, secure coding, OAuth2/OpenID Connect, compliance frameworks.
Leadership & Consulting
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and mentor developers.
- Strategic thinking with problem‑solving and decision‑making under pressure.
Domain Knowledge
- Aviation systems (Crew Scheduling, Flight Ops) preferred for AA TOPS context.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards.
Experience
- 10–15+ years in technology projects; 5+ years in architecture roles.
- Proven track record in large‑scale enterprise solutions and cloud‑native modernization.
Certifications (Preferred)
- AWS/Azure Solution Architect.
- SAFe Agilist or SPC for scaled agile delivery.
- TOGAF or equivalent architecture frameworks.
