PURPOSE

To perform all functions related to payroll processing, keep up to date on changes in payroll and deductions; and participate in annual financial and retirement plan audits.

EDUCATION

Two years of college or equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum two (2) years increasingly responsible payroll administrator experience.

PREREQUISITE SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of payroll processing
  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll tax law
  • Intermediate Excel skills and Microsoft Word skills
  • Experience with Paycom payroll and/or Time Management
  • Experience with union payroll requirements
  • Ability to complete a large volume of work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Able to set appropriate priorities and meet deadlines
  • Outstanding interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality
  • Must perform the functions of the position in a safe manner

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Processes weekly payroll for two payroll groups
  • Completes all required union reports
  • Verifies new employee information in Paycom payroll system
  • Reviews/sets up correct deductions for employees
  • Makes changes to 403(b) deductions and keeps track of maximum 403(b) for catch-up contributions
  • Performs Paycom payroll provider communications regarding fees and changes to payroll system
  • Sets up garnishments, federal and state tax levies
  • Responsible for yearend W-2 processing and distribution
  • Calculates 401(a) contributions
  • Completes monthly and quarterly State and Federal surveys
  • Maintains payroll converters

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

  • Special projects – with CFO and Controller
  • Provides Controller with reports for financial and retirement plan audits
  • Performs various accounting duties relating to GL and AP
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
