Chief Financial Officer (CFAO)

Primestaff Services is partnering with a confidential employer in their search for a strategic Chief Financial Officer or CFAO to drive expansion through M&A, recapitalization, and enterprise scaling. The role will design and lead the financial, legal, IT, and risk infrastructure needed to transition the company from a high‑growth engineering firm into a private‑equity‑backed platform. The role ensures financial integrity, due diligence readiness, and enterprise scalability to support growth, acquisitions, and recapitalization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build a scalable finance and accounting architecture for multi‑division growth.
  • Lead readiness for private equity diligence and transactions.
  • Implement and integrate ERP systems (Deltek Vantagepoint or equivalent).
  • Establish governance, legal, and risk frameworks aligned with investor expectations.
  • Serve as the financial and administrative liaison to investors, auditors, and the Board.
  • Own financial strategy, modeling, FP&A, and capitalization planning.
  • Direct accounting, treasury, cash management, and audit readiness.
  • Oversee ERP/data architecture, cybersecurity, and analytics functions.
  • Manage contracts, insurance programs, compliance, and external counsel.
  • Lead and mentor administrative teams, fostering transparency and accountability.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 15+ years in financial leadership, with 5+ years as CFO/VP Finance/CFAO.
  • Experience with PE transactions, recapitalizations, or acquisitions.
  • Proven success in multi‑division finance infrastructure.
  • Strong GAAP, financial modeling, and KPI expertise.
  • ERP/PSA system familiarity (Deltek, NetSuite, etc.).
  • CPA, MBA, or equivalent advanced credential preferred.
  • Strategic architect and integrator of complex systems.
  • Investor‑minded with strong value creation focus.
  • Hands‑on builder with high integrity and fiduciary accountability.
  • Collaborative partner across operations and executive leadership.

This is a hands‑on, investor‑minded leadership role for a builder ready to transform a growth‑stage company into a scalable platform. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
