Application Database Administrator
TS/SCI with Polygraph Required
Salary Range: $103,900 - $126,000 per year
Ops Tech Alliance is looking for an Application Database Administrator to take ownership of the databases that power mission‑critical application systems. In this role, you’ll manage, maintain, and optimize databases to ensure they’re secure, reliable, and scalable – whether running in the cloud or hybrid environments.
You’ll work closely with system architects and development teams to align database solutions with application goals and security requirements. If you enjoy solving complex data challenges, ensuring smooth performance, and building systems that support real‑world missions, this role offers the chance to make a direct impact.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and optimize relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) supporting modernized and legacy applications
Work closely with application developers and system architects to ensure effective database design and integration
Implement and maintain security measures in accordance with DoD and IC compliance frameworks
Monitor database performance, perform tuning, backups, and disaster recovery procedures
Develop and maintain data models, queries, stored procedures, scripts, and documentation
Troubleshoot and resolve database‑related issues, including availability, integrity, and latency
Required Qualifications
TS/SCI with Polygraph
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience with relational database administration
Strong SQL skills and familiarity with performance tuning, indexing, and database optimization
Experience with database security and data compliance frameworks
Familiarity with database support in cloud environments (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL)
Desired Qualifications
Experience with cloud‑native databases and NoSQL technologies
Certifications such as Oracle DBA, AWS Database Specialty, or Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate
Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community projects
Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes
