Residential Re-Entry Custodial Specialist (M - F 8A - 4P) (Maintenance) The Custodial Specialist is responsible for overall cleanliness and sanitation of program facility, unit, shared space, building and grounds. The Custodial Specialist responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting, waste removal, supplies/inventory, monitoring and/or inspecting life and safety equipment. The Custodial Specialist supports management, operations, contractual requirements, local, state and federal guidelines and regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent diploma/GED and at least one-year experience

In the provision of custodial services done in according to CDC and OHSA recommendations. Successful applicant must maintain current certification in CPR and First AID once hired. Annual TB testing /screening is required.

The position requires that the applicant must be able to lift 50 pounds and the capability of using foot stool/ladder to hang signage, documents and access lighting.

The position requires adequate and efficient housekeeping functions, assures cleanliness of all public

areas including but not limited to the offices, group rooms, conference rooms, rest rooms, dining rooms, guest rooms, control centers and waiting rooms.

If candidate is in recovery, a minimum of three (3) years sobriety is required for consideration. The position provides custodial coverage from Monday-Friday 7am-3pm including coverage on Saturday, if needed.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:

Maintain cleanliness of the offices, waiting areas, examination rooms and terminals.

Preform deep cleaning and disinfecting.

Vacuum/dust including window seals and blinds.

Maintain inventory, order cleaning/housekeeping supplies and equipment as needed.

Empty trash and recycle receptacles in all offices/rooms

Sweep, clean, strip, and wax floors as needed.

Conduct safety inspection of facility, unit, building and grounds.

Provide special cleanup methods involved with bodily fluids (blood, vomit, waste, urine).

Respond to emergency sanitation matters and/or incidents(beg bugs,covid-19)

Maintain working knowledge of VOAC policies and operational procedures, relevant federal, state and local guidelines.

Represent Program to contractors/vendors, community and the general public professionally and appropriately.

Participate in staff meetings/trainings as assigned

Conduct Monthly Fire Drills

Submit Maintenance Request Work Orders

Perform other duties as assigned.

OTHER:

Acceptable Criminal background results from State Police, Child Protective Services, and FBI Fingerprinting checks

Negative Drug Screening

Negative Tuberculosis screening

CPR/First Aid training must be acquired and maintained once employed.

EFFECT ON END RESULTS:

Facility/building/unit is maintained in a safe and sanitary manner at all times.

Facility/building/ unit in compliance with all contractual and licensure obligations.

Facility/ building/unit achieves outcomes of clean, healthy, safe, sanitized and disinfected environment through guidelines and recommendations endorsed by the following:

Center for Disease Control and prevention (CDC)

Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN)

Association for professional in infection control and Epidemiology (APIC)

Association for the Health Environment (AHE)
