Staff Analytical Scientist – Dexcom

As a member of the Dexcom analytical team, you will lead the design, development, and validation of analytical test methods for medical device applications, work closely with cross‑functional teams, and drive evidence‑based decisions that support product quality and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and validation of analytical test methods applicable to medical device applications.
Serve as a subject matter expert or technical lead in cross‑functional teams, driving technical solutions or decisions related to analytical matters.
Organize and provide advice on material supply, biocompatibility, safety, scalability, and other operation‑related design inputs.
Identify critical material and process attributes, and develop, implement, and maintain analytical instruments and test methods for in‑process and material quality control under Dexcom QMS systems.
Apply design of experiments and statistical analysis to deliver evidence‑based conclusions, author technical reports and protocols, and present results at stage‑appropriate technical design reviews.
Maintain laboratory safety protocols, chemical hygiene, and disposal of chemical waste in accordance with company and local EHS regulations.
What Makes You Successful
Extensive knowledge of analytical techniques and instrumentation for polymers and composites, including polymer structure‑properties relationship analysis and process impact.
Experience connecting material CQAs to field observations and product performance.
Strong communication and mentorship skills, capable of leading projects and collaborating with stakeholders.
Proficiency with SEC‑MALS, NMR, MALDI‑TOF, TGA, DSC, rheometry, and related instrumentation, including troubleshooting and repair.
Background in method development and validation in a pharmaceutical or medical device setting, familiar with ICH, USP, and other relevant standards.
PhD preferred (aqueous and organic polymer characterization); alternatively, Master’s with 5‑7 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s with 8‑12 years of experience.
Ability to work independently and in cross‑functional teams within a fast‑paced environment.
