Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Scientist with expertise in advanced mass spectrometry techniques to join our polymer characterization team. The successful candidate will lead analytical efforts using LC‑QTOF, ASAP/MS, MALDI‑MS, and Pyrolysis GC‑MS to investigate polymer composition, architecture, degradation, and performance. This role is critical to supporting R&D, product development, and quality assurance across a range of polymeric materials.
Responsibilities
You will serve as an SME in a cross‑functional team driving a technical solution or decision pertinent to analytical matters.
You will work with cross‑functional teams to organize intake as well as provide advice on material supply, biocompatibility, safety, scalability and other operation related design inputs and consultation.
You will identify critical material and process attributes, develop, and implement analytical instrument and test methods for in‑process and material quality control under Dexcom QMS systems.
You will apply design of experiment and statistical analysis to drive evidence‑based conclusions and recommendations, author technical reports and protocols, present results for stage‑appropriate technical design review and decision making.
You understand and apply basic laboratory safety protocols, chemical hygiene, and dispose chemical waste according to company and local EHS regulations.
Qualifications
Have strong technical expertise to build up new capabilities and workflows for the team. Educate and influence stakeholders on the best path by utilizing statistical analysis to make data‑based conclusions.
Strong experience on thermal characterizations such as TGA, DSC, Rheometer and ability to build up correlations of different polymer properties.
Design and execute experiments using LC‑QTOF, ASAP/MS, MALDI‑MS, and Pyrolysis GC‑MS for detailed polymer analysis.
Characterize polymer structures, additives, degradation products, and crosslinking behavior; a strong NMR background will be a plus.
Interpret mass spectral data to elucidate polymer architecture, molecular weight distribution, and fragmentation pathways.
Collaborate with synthetic chemists, materials scientists, and product development teams to support innovation and troubleshooting.
Be ready and willing to learn and operate other types of analytical instrumentation based on business needs.

Education and Experience Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 5‑8 years related experience or a master’s degree and 2‑4 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0‑2 years of experience.
