Role Overview
The Medical Practice Evaluation Center (MPEC) invites an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join its research team. MPEC collaborates with an internationally‑recognized, multidisciplinary network that includes Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Yale School of Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and multiple international institutions. The group studies the clinical impact and cost‑effectiveness of prevention and treatment options for diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, tobacco use, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and other conditions in both domestic and resource‑limited settings.
Responsibilities
Construct and parameterize model‑based cost‑effectiveness analyses using diverse data sources.
Lead abstract presentations and manuscript preparation, ensuring clear communication of findings.
Assist with model refinement, expansion, and proposal development, supporting NIH‑funded disease models.
Collaborate with researchers in Boston and national/international groups, fostering multidisciplinary teamwork.
Essential Functions
Maintain and monitor project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.
Organize, attend, and participate in stakeholder meetings, documenting and following up on important actions.
Prepare necessary presentation materials for meetings, ensuring project deadlines are met.
Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and maintain appropriate documentation for each project.
Assess project risks and issues, providing solutions where applicable.
Create a project management calendar to fulfill each goal and objective.
Qualifications Education: Master’s preferred but not required (MS, MA, MPH). Applicants should have a strong background in applied mathematics, decision science, data science, biostatistics, statistics, computer science, and/or economics, with quantitative coursework and research experience.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of research experience (inclusive of graduate studies) in disease modeling.
Knowledgeable of basic business administrative principles and project management best practices.
Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to work on tight deadlines.
Knowledge of file management and other administrative procedures.
