Director of Business Development – Industrial & O&G
Cyient is seeking a seasoned
Business Development leader
to accelerate growth across our
Industrial, Oilfield, and Energy Engineering Services portfolio , with a strong emphasis on product engineering, manufacturing engineering, plant engineering, and lifecycle support services.
This role is focused on increasing Energy sector revenues by expanding existing accounts and winning new business with industrial OEMs, oilfield equipment manufacturers, automation and controls companies, and energy technology providers. The ideal candidate brings deep experience selling engineering services (not equipment) into complex industrial and oilfield manufacturing environments, with working exposure to energy transition technologies such as carbon capture (CCUS). You will lead high-impact sales initiatives, build executive-level customer relationships, and drive complex, multi-year engineering services engagements from opportunity identification through contract close.

Key Responsibilities
Drive revenue growth across industrial OEM, oilfield equipment, and energy technology accounts
Identify and close new opportunities with oilfield equipment manufacturers, industrial systems providers, and automation vendors
Lead solution-based selling of product engineering, manufacturing engineering, plant engineering, and digital engineering services
Develop and manage a robust pipeline of multi-year, multimillion-dollar engineering services engagements
Own opportunity progression through a disciplined sales process and CRM rigor
Partner with delivery, engineering, and solution architects to shape complex technical and commercial proposals
Negotiate and close MSAs, SOWs, and pricing structures focused on long-term partnerships
Cultivate executive-level relationships across engineering, operations, manufacturing, and corporate leadership
Position Cyient as a strategic engineering partner, not a transactional vendor
Must‑Have Experience
10+ years of experience selling engineering services and solutions in a metrics-driven environment
Proven sales experience with industrial OEMs, oilfield equipment manufacturers, or automation and controls companies
Demonstrated success selling into organizations such as NOV, VAC, Siemens, Emerson, Baker Hughes, SLB, or similar
Strong track record driving multimillion-dollar, multi-year services revenue
Established network of C‑suite, VP, and Director-level leaders across industrial and energy organizations
Expertise developing and executing structured go-to-market strategies for engineering services
Proven ability to navigate complex buying centers and close sophisticated commercial agreements
Experience collaborating cross-functionally to build integrated technical and commercial solutions
Preferred Skills & Domain Knowledge
Deep understanding of industrial engineering services, product development lifecycles, and manufacturing processes
Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering, industrial automation, controls, IoT, and analytics
Strong familiarity with oilfield equipment, industrial systems, and plant operations
Exposure to carbon capture, emissions reduction, or other energy transition technologies is a plus
Experience Experience supporting modernization, digitalization, or lifecycle optimization initiatives.
