Position Summary The Senior Financial Analyst provides high‑level financial analysis, planning, and budget management for the Division of Equity & Inclusion (E&I). This role develops and implements financial concepts for resource planning, performs detailed financial analyses, and advises E&I leadership on budget status and strategies. The analyst reports directly to the Divisional Finance Leader.

Responsibilities

Conduct advanced financial planning and analysis to understand past performance and project future resource needs.

Provide analytical support for complex, division‑wide budget projects and strategic initiatives.

Advise E&I leadership on budget status, resource allocation, and strategies to maximize available funds.

Assist in completing the annual budget process and quarterly compliance reviews for the campus Budget Office.

Design and deliver analytical studies, summary reports, and background materials for internal and external audiences.

Evaluate impacts of new policies or regulations and develop procedures to enforce compliance and fiduciary responsibility.

Maintain strong working relationships with E&I leadership, departmental managers, and finance staff.

Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of university financial regulations, policies, and systems for budget and fund accounting.

Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

Experience conducting complex financial analysis and reporting.

Proficiency with financial planning systems and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.

Advanced knowledge of enterprise financial systems such as CalPlanning, CalAnswers, BFS, and HCP.

Advanced degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Strong project management and conflict‑resolution abilities.

Salary & Benefits Annual salary range: $120,000 – $145,000. This full‑time (40 hrs/week) career position is exempt, monthly‑paid, and eligible for UC benefits. The budgeted salary is consistent with UC policy and is not guaranteed to reach the top of the range for all candidates.
