Principal Missile Defense System Requirements Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support to the development, management, and planning for current and future missile defense capabilities
Provide senior‑level support to the definition, management, and execution of requirements traceability; allocation of MDA Technical Core Standards adherence planning
Provide leadership of the MDA Engineering Requirements Group
Foster collaborative engineering technical interchanges across the MDA engineering community for requirements development
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 12+ years of experience
Active Secret clearance
Technical expertise supporting government and contracting staff in systems and digital engineering
Experience in MBSE tools (CAMEO), principles, and methodologies for the development, requirements, design, and analysis of architectures in complex DoD projects
Experience in the development, management, and planning for current and future capabilities as they relate to missile defense, specifically related to the functional portion of the system
Experience in reviewing, analyzing, and providing recommendations on the development, addition, variances, and changes to functional requirements as well as providing quality checks on technical documentation and products
Senior‑level experience in document development, presentations, change requests, and other engineering products
Experience with interacting and supporting high‑level government customers (Senior NH‑4 director‑level and above)
Understanding of Industry/DoD engineering best practices, complemented by mature communication skills
Desired Qualifications
INCOSE CSEP or ESEP certification
Previous MDA experience
Knowledge of MDA systems engineering processes
Knowledge of ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missile defense fundamentals
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work independently, as a team member, or leading teams/tasks, applying engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems
In‑depth practical and theoretical technical/engineering knowledge
Working knowledge of missile defense system components and mission
Familiarity with DoD and MDA processes and procedures
Ability to work in a high‑paced environment while coordinating with multiple organizations and leadership
Proficient with Microsoft software applications
Ability to execute and complete tasks with no supervision
Ability to travel 20‑25% to CONUS and OCONUS locations
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
