Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative I represents the face of the organization to patients who visit as part of their health routine or for important health decisions.
- This role is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and following established practices and procedures.
- The role involves direct patient interaction and creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while delivering services in a safe, accurate, and professional manner.
- The position demonstrates leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties in accordance with established practices and procedures.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Ability to provide high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Availability to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Minimum of six months of phlebotomy experience required.
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry experience required.
