Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative I represents the face of the company to patients who visit as part of their health routine or for life-defining health decisions.
- The role involves drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established practices and procedures.
- The Patient Services Representative I has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures and performing blood draws in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
- The role demonstrates leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
- Maintain required records and documentation accurately.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility and availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Minimum of six months of phlebotomy experience required.
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry experience required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a patient-focused environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
