Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative I represents the face of the company to patients who come in as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions.
- This role is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established practices and procedures.
- The position requires direct patient interaction and the ability to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures and performing blood draws in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
- The role demonstrates leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
- Maintain required records and documentation accurately.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Minimum of six months of phlebotomy experience required.
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical training as a medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred and required in certain states.
