Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Location: Southlake, TX
Duration: 4+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift Timings: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Job Summary:

The Phlebotomist II / Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, interacting directly with patients during routine health visits or critical diagnostic procedures. This role involves collecting high-quality blood specimens, ensuring proper labeling and documentation, and maintaining a professional and compassionate environment. The PSR II is expected to uphold leadership behaviors, confidentiality standards, and process excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily tasks accurately and punctually under supervisor direction.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens following established protocols.
  • Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of specimens in the patient’s presence.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public.

Requirements:

Skills & Abilities:

  • High-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Adherence to company policies, dress code, and safety guidelines.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making based on established procedures.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
  • Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Superior customer service and communication skills.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred)
  • Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, WA)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment (Preferred)
  • Experience in customer service within retail or service industries (Preferred)
  • Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.

Additional Information:

  • Training locations may vary depending on trainer availability.
  • This position may be assigned to a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
