Job Location: La Quinta, CA
Job Duration: 3 Months (possibility of extension)
Shift: 6:30am - 3:30pm Pacific time zone
Payrate: $22.00 - $27.20/ hr. on w2
- The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is the primary point of contact for patients and plays a key role in delivering an excellent patient experience.
- This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and providing clear communication to patients throughout the process.
- The PSR I ensures a safe, professional, and confidential environment while following all established procedures and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily tasks accurately, efficiently, and on schedule under the direction of the Area Supervisor.
- Provide exceptional, error-free service in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Greet patients, verify information, and establish a trusting and professional interaction.
- Collect clinical and forensic specimens (including pediatric and geriatric) using safe, skillful, and accurate phlebotomy techniques.
- Prepare, label, and process specimens following all established protocols and quality standards.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation and records.
- Support confidentiality, data accuracy, and patient safety at all times.
- Uphold organizational values, demonstrate leadership behaviors, and promote a positive image to patients, clients, and colleagues.
- Maintain a clean, compliant, and safe work environment.
- Adapt to staffing needs, including working weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as required.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months relevant experience.
- Keyboard and data entry skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication, customer service, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate, and timely work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical assistant or paramedic training.
- Phlebotomy certification (Required in CA, NV, and WA).
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience.
- Customer service experience in a retail, healthcare, or service environment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent phlebotomy technique (pediatric, adult, and geriatric).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and work in high-volume environments.
