Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients arriving for routine health needs or important health decisions.
- The PSR II draws quality blood samples and prepares specimens for lab testing while following established procedures.
- This role requires direct patient interaction, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence through skillful, safe, and accurate specimen collection.
- The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy in patient information.
- Applicants may be assigned to a doctor s office, a patient service center, or other locations as needed.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Commitment to policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver s license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours to cover multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Strong customer focus, clear communication skills, and adaptability to change.
- 1 3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Experience in a patient service center preferred.
- Customer service experience strongly preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience required.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.
- Verify patient demographic information and obtain initials/signature to confirm accurate labeling.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and employees.
- Strong phlebotomy skills.
- Customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a high-volume setting.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to change.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
