Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients seeking routine healthcare or critical health insights.
- The PSR II is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while strictly following established practices and procedures.
- This role requires direct patient interaction and the ability to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and performing blood draws in a safe, accurate, and skillful manner.
- The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, and strong attention to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
- Assignments may include a doctor s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment at all times.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties in accordance with established procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and initials, including obtaining patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct specimen labeling.
- Maintain required records and documentation accurately.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Ability to provide high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call schedules, overtime, and varying shifts based on staffing needs.
- Commitment to company policies and procedures, including dress code, employee health and safety, and guiding principles.
- Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise sound judgment.
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver s license and clean driving record, if applicable.
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to communicate openly and professionally with patients, peers, and supervisors, and adapt to change effectively.
- Three years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred and required in certain states.
- Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
