Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II represents the face of the organization to patients seeking routine care or critical health insights.
- This role is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring procedures are completed safely, accurately, and professionally.
- The role requires direct patient interaction, strong customer service skills, and adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Assignments may include physician offices, patient service centers, or other locations based on business needs.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, professional, and patient-focused environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties in accordance with established procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct specimen labeling.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Availability to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise sound judgment.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver s license with a clean driving record, if applicable.
- Ability to travel and work across multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Strong customer focus with excellent communication and adaptability.
- One to three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment strongly preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry experience required.
- Specimen collection and processing.
- Patient interaction and customer service.
- Time management and multitasking.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
