Full-Time | 7-On / 7-Off Schedule | 11 AM – 11 PM
Position Summary Boston Medical Center Health System is seeking an experienced Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our expanding Hospital Medicine team at BMC South. This role is designed for an advanced practice provider who thrives in a fast‑paced inpatient environment and is committed to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
Schedule & Workload
Shift:
11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Schedule:
7 days on / 7 days off
Average Admissions:
~8 patients per day
MD Supervision:
Available on-site for all admissions
Support:
Either the day team or nocturnist team will be available for transitions and support
Responsibilities
Perform admissions from the ED and direct transfers
Conduct comprehensive histories and physicals
Assess, diagnose, and manage acute medical conditions in collaboration with attending physicians
Develop and implement patient management plans
Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, case management, specialty consultants, and ancillary staff
Provide clear documentation in the electronic medical record
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and care optimization programs
Qualifications
Master’s degree as NP or PA from an accredited program
Current Massachusetts NP/PA licensure
National board certification
Minimum 1–2 years of inpatient or hospitalist experience required
Strong clinical assessment and critical‑thinking skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
Excellent communication, organization, and patient‑care skills

Compensation Range $104,000.00 – $151,000.00
This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market‑competitiveness.
