What you will be doing at Globalstar As a Senior Systems Integration and Test Engineer (Product), you will be a hands‑on engineer implementing a test framework using best industry practices for a wireless network that includes satellite hardware, IP, systems, and device‑level IoT software.
Responsibilities
Develop test plans and procedures for product interfaces at any level, from hardware to IP to web/mobile applications
Define and identify software tools to automate testing and analysis
Create automation and logging tools to support testing
Parse and analyze logs to determine root cause of issues
Define simulators to support end‑to‑end testing
Write detailed test reports
Work across disciplines including hardware, software, firmware engineers as well as product managers
What you will bring to Globalstar
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical, Computer, Communications, Wireless, Systems, Test Engineering or closely related field
7+ years of recent and direct hands‑on experience with Systems Integration and testing for wireless networks
Hands‑on experience and implementing and maintaining an existing test framework. This included creating test KPI's and writing test and data logging scripts using Python.
Experience with one or more of the following wireless protocols: 5G NR, 4G LTE, Proprietary satellite communications, WiMAX, 802.11ad/ay, and/or Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth/802.15.4 (Zigbee/Thread)
Ability to execute and debug RF tests such as noise figure, sensitivity, phase noise
Experience interacting with and verifying interfaces at various levels of the protocol stack, from physical layer up; including a majority of SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, AT commands, MQTT, web/Android/iOS apps, and related
Experience using various protocol testers and analyzers, from logic analyzers to Wireshark
Significant experience using test equipment from one or more of Keysight, Anritsu, Rohde & Schwarz, Copper Mountain, Signalhound, or Litepoint
It's a bonus if you have
Master's Degree in Electrical, Computer, Communications, Wireless, Systems, or Test Engineering
Ability to analyze UML design documents and develop test plans to execute state machines or message sequences
Experience using software collaboration and code storage tools like Bitbucket, Github, Confluence, Jira, etc.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
