Overview Lumicera Health Services is seeking a Director, Strategic Partnerships to our team!
Reporting to the SVP, Specialty Pharmacy, the Director, Strategic Partnerships leads a team of experienced professionals who establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with strategic partners in specialty pharmacy.
Strategic partners include pharmaceutical manufacturers (Pharma), wholesalers, health systems, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), and other pertinent partners.
The Director negotiates contracts for limited distribution drugs (LDDs), enhanced service contracts, wholesaler and GPO contracts, and health system partnerships, and provides decision guidance through strategic planning, modeling, forecasting, and budget‑impact analysis.
The role may also represent the organization to the public, accrediting bodies, clients, and vendors.
Responsibilities
Shape and develop division strategy, organization, and budget
Participate in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives concerning specialty pharmacy opportunities
Negotiate or lead a team that negotiates distribution and procurement agreements with specialty pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers/GPOs, and health systems, and ensure successful implementation of agreements to achieve compliance and full realization of agreed‑upon fees
Establish and maintain relationships and partnerships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers/GPOs, health systems, and providers, identifying opportunities for cumulative cost reduction or revenue generation
Develop and implement strategies and action plans for establishing and enhancing a competitive contract structure that meets current and future needs, ensuring appropriate agreements, analytical processes, and audit programs are in place
Secure access to Limited Distribution medications and oversee the implementation of these agreements
Work closely with cross‑functional teams to develop the specialty pharmacy portfolio and source specialty products in a competitive specialty drug market
Assist with the co‑development and creation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts related to the procurement of specialty pharmaceutical products for specialty pharmacy
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
BA/BS or PharmD/RPh from an accredited pharmacy school required
Master of Business Administration (MBA) required
At least seven years of specialty pharmacy operations, analytics, account management, specialty pharmacy, or pharmaceutical pharmacy experience required
Experience in contract negotiation, with strong preference in specialty or PBM rebate contracting (or equivalent experience)
Must understand Specialty Pharmacy drugs including REMS and Limited Distribution Products best practices
Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
Ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
