Job Description A global provider of specialized air & gas engineered solutions is looking for a General Manager to oversee its daily operations. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with expertise in financial management, operations, sales and marketing, human resources, R&D, and engineering disciplines. Working cross-functionally, the new leader will achieve business objectives by maximizing profitability, generating strong financial returns, and prioritizing exceptional customer experience while upholding the company’s mission and core business principles.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the organization (About 30 direct reports).
Develop and execute business strategies aligned with company objectives and market opportunities in gas separation and chemical process systems.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in gas generation, purification, and recovery technologies (e.g., membrane, PSA).
Provide market insights on industrial gases, renewable energy, and environmental applications.
Oversee daily operations across production, engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (ISO, OSHA, EPA).
Drive efficiency improvements, cost reductions, and on‑time delivery performance.
Provide leadership to the company’s R&D teams.
Develop schedules with key milestones identified.
Work with business unit managers on product development requirements.
Benchmark the company's products with market offering.
Prepare and manage annual budgets, P&L statements, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Monitor cost controls and pricing strategies to maintain profitability and competitiveness.
Evaluate capital investments and manage vendor and contract negotiations.
Direct sales and marketing efforts targeting industrial, energy, and environmental markets.
Cultivate strategic partnerships and key customer relationships.
Support proposal development and technical sales, ensuring alignment between client needs and company capabilities.
Build, mentor, and retain a high‑performing, cross‑functional team.
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and safety.
Lead workforce planning and performance evaluations.
Ensure compliance with all applicable industry regulations and certifications.
Oversee quality management systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent).
Support continuous improvement initiatives and sustainability efforts.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science – Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in chemical processing, industrial gas, or related industries
Proven experience managing manufacturing or engineering operations
Must be familiar with finance and accounting, operations, sales, marketing, human resources, research and development, and engineering
Strong understanding of gas separation technologies (membranes, PSA/VPSA, etc.) is a plus
Need to be strong technically to understand the various product lines
Knowledgeable in the packaging of equipment
The ability to develop strong relationships with Key Customers and organizational personnel
Excellent communicator who seeks out opportunities
