Target Compensation:
$150‑$158K based on experience + full benefits.

Position Summary Road to Hire seeks a founding CAO to join the executive leadership team, reporting to the CEO. This new role will drive and oversee philanthropic and corporate advancement, workforce development, and alumni engagement. The CAO will serve as a trusted partner to the CEO and lead multiple high‑impact teams.
Key Responsibilities Philanthropic Leadership
Manage high‑net‑worth donor portfolio, cultivate, solicit, and steward multi‑year commitments (six‑ and seven‑figure).
Oversee public and private revenue streams, identify new funding prospects.
Collaborate with CEO on donor engagement strategies, board cultivation, and fundraising opportunities.
Design and implement comprehensive advancement strategy across individual giving, corporate philanthropy, foundation partnerships, and planned giving.
Leverage corporate relationships to drive philanthropic investment and workforce collaboration.
Ensure grant development, contract compliance, and reporting align with program priorities and fiscal accountability.
Drive donor stewardship culture through personalized communications.
Workforce, Innovation, and Alumni Network Leadership
Lead development and execution of workforce programming, corporate engagement, and alumni strategy, ensuring alignment with industry needs and long‑term impact.
Define and communicate clear vision for WIN team aligning with organizational goals.
Monitor labor market trends to keep programs competitive and responsive.
Guide Workforce, Innovation and Alumni Network teams to design data‑driven programs producing exceptional outcomes.
Develop industry‑aligned workforce initiatives, pathways, and emerging solutions.
Build high‑impact employer partnerships to create hiring pipelines for full‑time roles and internships.
Report and oversee systems measuring progress and achieving goals across teams.
Organizational and Strategic Leadership
Serve as strategic advisor and executor to the CEO; translate vision into measurable results across workforce and philanthropic priorities.
Lead, mentor, and align cross‑functional teams toward shared goals.
Integrate fundraising and workforce strategies into unified roadmap for mission growth and financial sustainability.
Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, and Program Operations for messaging, stewardship and operational excellence.
Represent Road to Hire externally as ambassador and thought leader.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Leadership, Public Policy, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
10+ years senior executive leadership in workforce development, philanthropy, or corporate engagement.
Successful experience leading multiple teams at scale with high‑stakes relationships.
Track record of securing six‑ and seven‑figure philanthropic investments.
Deep expertise in workforce innovation, apprenticeship systems, and social impact partnerships.
Experience working closely with CEOs, boards, and senior executives in mission‑driven or complex organizations.
