Engineering Manager – Custom Cabinetry & Millwork

Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Design Engineers and CNC Programmers.
Oversee the creation of accurate, production‑ready shop drawings for custom cabinetry and millwork projects.
Ensure all engineering outputs meet architectural intent, client specifications, and manufacturing constraints.
Review and approve drawings, cut lists, CNC programs, and bills of materials prior to release.
Supervise CNC programming for routers, panel saws, edge‑banders, and related equipment.
Partner with production and shop leadership to resolve technical challenges and improve manufacturability.
Develop and maintain engineering standards, SOPs, and best practices for drafting, programming, and data flow.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce errors, rework, and cycle times.
Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Sales, Estimating, and Production teams to align scope, schedule, and deliverables.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, or woodworking manufacturing.
3+ years in a leadership or management role overseeing engineering and/or CNC teams.
Manage and optimize the use of CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, Mozaik, WoodWOP, or similar platforms.
Hands‑on understanding of CNC machining, tooling, and shop workflows.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings.
Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
