The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant physician to direct the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Section within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.

Position Overview The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible heart failure and transplant physician/physician scientist at the associate professor or professor rank, with an extramurally funded clinical or translational research program to lead an elite team of academic physicians. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in both clinical care and research initiatives, leading the Division's high-performing heart failure and cardiac transplant team. and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, advancing heart failure research, and mentoring junior faculty and trainees.

Responsibilities

Expand outpatient and inpatient services for heart failure and transplant cases at Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital and OSU Wexner Medical Center.

Advise and mentor junior faculty, trainees, and residents.

Lead clinical care teams and develop new care protocols.

Advance heart failure research, including clinical trials and translational studies.

Represent the Division at academic meetings and external collaborations.

Grow and maintain extramural funding for clinical and translational research programs.

Requirements

Board‑eligible or board‑certified in cardiology.

Completed a US‑accredited cardiology fellowship.

Eligible for an Ohio medical license.

Experience in clinical or translational research preferred.

Proven track record of extramural grant writing and success.

Ability to lead a multi‑disciplinary academic team.

Previous academic appointment at associate professor or professor level (or equivalent).

Division & Institutional Support The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine comprises over 60 cardiologists across multiple specialties and offers a nationally recognized research environment. The Division is affiliated with the Ross Heart Hospital and provides services in over 12 counties in Ohio and Kentucky.
