Job Description As a Manager on the Future of Payments team within Visa’s Growth Products organization, you will help shape Visa’s long‑term standards posture and contribute to the development of a unified narrative around emerging payment architectures. This role combines technical fluency with strong storytelling skills, supporting Visa’s efforts in next‑generation protocols, agentic payment systems, and alternative settlement mechanisms.
Responsibilities
Contribute to Visa’s standards strategy, developing Visa’s point of view on emerging protocols such as x402, AP2, ACP, and non‑card credential frameworks, and supporting engagement with standards bodies like EMVCo and other industry groups.
Evaluate and document emerging payment architectures, including agent‑based payment flows, stablecoin settlement, decentralized identity structures, and next‑generation authorization models.
Support development of the Future of Payments narrative, helping produce frameworks, strategic messaging, and executive‑ready presentations that articulate Visa’s role in emerging ecosystems.
Coordinate global narrative activation, partnering with regional teams and innovation centers to ensure consistency across storytelling, prototypes, and external engagements.
Serve as a subject matter resource on emerging standards and architectures for internal partners and external stakeholders.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Basic Qualifications
5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or 0 years of work experience with a PhD.
Preferred Qualifications
6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree, or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
Experience working with payment standards, technical protocols, or interoperability frameworks.
Strong ability to translate technical topics into clear narratives and presentations for stakeholders at multiple levels.
Solid understanding of the payments ecosystem, including agentic systems, stablecoins, or non‑card payment mechanisms.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience coordinating across multiple teams.
Experience participating in industry standards bodies, technical working groups, or regulatory‑adjacent forums.
Familiarity with emerging identity frameworks, decentralized protocols, or AI‑agent architectures.
Experience in global, matrixed organizations with diverse stakeholder groups.
Strong storytelling skills and the ability to support executive‑level communication.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5‑10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
