Medical Director

NVA supports six hospitals across the Raleigh-Durham area of which multiple locations are in the early stages of searching for a new Medical Director. The Medical Director is primarily responsible for providing medical leadership for the hospital, managing associate veterinarians, and assuring regulatory compliance relating to the practice of veterinary medicine. The Medical Director is also responsible for creating an environment of teamwork in which quality medicine and exceptional client service are consistently delivered to our clients and their pets.
Medical Director Responsibilities
Provide strategic medical leadership and oversight for all veterinary operations
Establish and maintain medical protocols and quality care standards
Mentor and develop associate veterinarians and support staff
Monitor doctor performance and production
Oversee surgical and medical cases, ensuring positive outcomes and excellent client communication
Drive revenue growth while managing hospital expenses
Participate in recruiting and interviewing process for doctors and key staff members
Collaborate with practice management on business initiatives and hospital growth
Support inventory management and cost control measures
Maintain strong relationships with clients and the community
Required Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) an accredited university
Current North Carolina veterinary license in good standing or the ability to obtain one
Minimum of 5 years clinical experience
Previous leadership or management experience is preferred but not required
Strong surgical and medical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Demonstrated team leadership and development capabilities
Interest in or experience with integrative medicine approaches
Business acumen and financial management skills
