Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Oceanside, California. The ideal candidate will have experience handling both accounts payable and receivable tasks, as well as a strong ability to manage collections and invoicing processes while maintaining accurate financial records. Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable tasks, including matching purchase orders to packing slips and verifying received items.
- Handle accounts receivable duties, such as invoicing, managing aging reports, and conducting business-to-business collections calls.
- Prepare and issue weekly payment batches, processing approximately 40-60 checks on a regular basis.
- Maintain organized records by filing and retrieving documents for audits and year-end reporting.
- Pull financial reports to track due payments and ensure timely processing.
- Utilize Excel for basic spreadsheet functions to support financial tracking and reporting.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial documentation.
- Assist with gathering documentation and preparing for audits.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within accounting operations.
- Work with IQMS software to manage financial data effectively. Requirements - At least 1 year of experience in accounting, with exposure to both accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Proficiency in handling collections, invoicing, and managing aging reports.
- Familiarity with 3-way matching processes for purchase orders and packing slips.
- Competence in using Excel for basic spreadsheet functions.
- Experience with IQMS or similar accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work efficiently in a paper-heavy, manual environment.
- Exposure to accrual accounting is a plus but not required.
