What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $29.00-$31.00. Location & Schedule
In this position you can expect to work on site at 27500 East 80th Ave, Denver, CO 80249 4 days per week. Specific scheduling requirements for this position include Wednesday to Saturday, 5:45AM to 4:15PM (subject to change).

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented
Fleet Parts Specialist III
to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement, inventory, and distribution of parts for automotive, maintenance, facilities, and medium- to heavy-duty equipment.
The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with strong leadership skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is driven by growth and career advancement. This is a 24/7/365 operation that includes support for snow operations, and overtime may be required.
In this role you can expect to:
Parts & Inventory Management:
Source, order, receive, and distribute parts for light, medium, and heavy-duty fleet vehicles. Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts, audits, and system updates. Ensure parts are properly labeled, stored, and organized within the warehouse. Purchasing & Vendor Relations:
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery. Process purchase orders, invoices, and warranty claims accurately and efficiently. Research and identify cost-saving opportunities. Leadership & Teamwork:
Act as a lead and mentor to junior parts specialists and warehouse staff. Provide training, guidance, and support to ensure team success and productivity. Foster a collaborative work environment that emphasizes teamwork, respect, and communication. Time & Task Management:
Prioritize multiple demands and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Proactively address issues, solve problems, and adapt to changing needs within the operation. Manage parts requests and emergency orders to minimize downtime. Customer Service:
Serve as the primary contact for internal technicians and management regarding parts availability and status. Maintain a professional, customer-focused attitude while providing prompt and accurate information. What You'll Bring

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehousing operations, and purchasing. Proven leadership experience or ability to lead, coach, and motivate others. Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook) and fleet management/inventory software/Maximo/Workday a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making capability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ambitious, self-driven, and eager to grow professionally within the organization. Experience working in a municipal, transit, or large fleet environment. ASE Parts Specialist Certification or equivalent industry certifications. Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and OSHA safety standards. Lifting 50-100lbs Required Minimum Qualifications
Education requirement: Graduate from high school or possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate. Experience Requirement: Five (5) years' experience in an automotive or heavy-duty equipment repair setting, including parts identification receiving, stocking, issuing, and maintain inventory records of automotive and heavy-duty equipment parts, equipment, supplies, or materials which must include purchasing experience. Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements. License/Certifications: This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
