Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist
Join the
Division of Cardiology at Albany Medical College
as an academic cardiologist in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology (Assistant, Associate, or full Professor). The position is part of the region’s only DNV-certified comprehensive advanced heart failure program, with a growing team of 18 cardiologists and 5 advanced practice providers.
Program Details
Strong institutional and community support for a multidisciplinary approach.
Collaboration with advanced practice providers, specialists in cardiac electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, cardiovascular imaging, and cardiothoracic surgery.
Expertise in cardiomyopathies including hypertrophic and infiltrative disorders.
Pre‑ and post‑operative care for heart transplant and VAD patients in collaboration with regional academic cardiac surgical centers.
Commitment to innovative, patient‑centered care for heart failure patients.
Core faculty participation in the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program.
Qualifications
MD/DO or related degree with board certification or eligibility in Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology.
Clinically oriented with research experience and teaching abilities for academic appointment.
Formal training in advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation.
Leadership qualities and assets highly valued.
Strong communication skills and collaborative multidisciplinary approach.
Passion for high‑quality care of heart failure patients and advancing cardiology.
Ability to teach, mentor, and collaborate with medical students, residents, fellows, and other providers.
Eligible for academic appointment and medical licensure in New York.
