What to Expect
We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to support the development and commercialization of software and firmware features for Megapack. This role will work closely with engineering to ensure features are clearly scoped and effectively launched to support market needs. Supporting devices include the whole system comprising electrical and networking equipment, battery pack, inverter & thermal controllers. This role will support new and sustaining software and firmware features across industrial energy products while collaborating with hardware product & application engineering teams.
This position requires technical expertise, commercial acumen, and a strong ability to collaborate across teams. Experience in software/firmware product management, development, and the renewable energy sector will set you apart. Attention to detail, curiosity, and the ability to prioritize many features are essential to success.
This role is part of the Industrial Product team which oversees the hardware, software, firmware, and services powering Megapack and other industrial energy products.
What You'll Do
Discovery & Requirements: Create crisp feature requests by seeking to understand the problem that needs to be solved by whatever means necessary (user/stakeholder interviews, reading published grid or compliance requirements, contracts, etc.)
Roadmap Prioritization: Create business cases, define product requirements, and prioritize features to meet market and customer needs
Collaborative Development: Work alongside world-class engineers and professionals to design and deliver software solutions
Technical Enablement: Develop technical content such as manuals, application notes, and marketing collateral to support both internal teams and external stakeholders
Education & Advocacy: Educate internal teams, customers, and partners on critical product features and best practices
What You'll Bring
Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
5+ years in engineering, software product management, or a related field
Strong preference for experience as a software or firmware engineer working in Utilities industry
General understanding of cybersecurity and network monitoring as it applies to electric grid
Ability to qualify and quantify variety of time series data to turn them into operational insights
Familiarity with energy storage products and the challenges with grid connected systems
Deep understanding of software development processes, tools, and best practices
Blend of technical and commercial expertise, with strong analytical and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships across stakeholders
Strong passion for advancing renewable energy and grid transformation

Expected Compensation $108,000 - $228,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
