Responsibilities
Define the Innovation Pipeline – research emerging technologies, market trends, competitive releases, and community discussions to identify high‑leverage innovation areas.
Architect, develop, and present advanced prototypes to demonstrate novel product capabilities and validate technical feasibility.
Perform competitive and technical intelligence, providing concise reports to senior leadership and product teams.
Advocate for new technologies, frameworks, and tools (especially Generative AI, real‑time data processing, and headless architecture) to accelerate development or unlock new product categories.
Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering Leadership, and Architecture teams to translate concepts into actionable roadmaps and product themes.
Mentor senior engineers, guiding decisions on architectural patterns, distributed systems design, and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years in a highly technical role (e.g., Principal Engineer, Technical Architect) with a proven track record of influencing product direction.
Experience successfully advocating for new technology investment leading to market‑leading features.
Expert‑level full stack development and architecture across modern languages (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Go) and scalable, distributed systems.
Deep knowledge of AI/ML, real‑time streaming, microservices, and cloud‑native architectures.
Exceptional communication and storytelling skills for both executive and engineering audiences.
Self‑directed, entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable operating in ambiguous, future‑focused environments.
Direct experience with the Salesforce platform ecosystem (Commerce Cloud, Data Cloud, Agentforce).
Preferred Skills
Experience in commerce platforms, customer data platforms, or enterprise AI software.
Familiarity with MLOps and deployment of predictive or generative AI features to customer‑facing environments.
Prior Technical Evangelist experience or presenting complex technical concepts at industry conferences.
