Position Overview
Critical Care Float Pool RN
at Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. Positions are part‑time and work 12‑hour night shifts.
The Critical Care Float Pool is a dynamic team of nurses who help meet staffing needs throughout the hospital, both Mission Viejo and Laguna Beach campuses, including all our critical care and telemetry units. The team works interchangeably in all critical care, emergency, and telemetry care areas.
Unit Descriptions
Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
– a highly dynamic 27‑bed unit staffed by compassionate nurses and specialists dedicated to cardiac critical care. Specializations include CABG, critical sepsis, DKA, VATS, STEMI, GI bleeds, and CHF patients.
Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
– a vigorous, fast‑paced 20‑bed unit focused on neuro and trauma care. The SICU team works with patients who have neurocritical conditions such as traumatic brain injuries, strokes, spinal cord injuries, and those recovering from complex surgeries and trauma.
Laguna Beach ICU
– a 4‑bed unit caring for moderate acuity patients with a wide variety of critical conditions.
Definitive Stepdown Unit (DSU)
– a fast‑paced 15‑bed critical care stepdown unit treating all adult patients requiring close and frequent monitoring, specializing in CABG and TAVR patients.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Upon hire: California Registered Nurse License.
Upon hire: National Provider BLS – American Heart Association.
Upon hire: National Provider ACLS – American Heart Association.
1 year of nursing experience.

Salary & Benefits Pay Range:
$53.25 – $82.68 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
