Senior Pipeline Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop business opportunities with new and existing clients and prepare associated proposals.
Effectively steward and build client relationships to generate repeat business.
Manage overall project delivery, including planning, controls, financial management, change, risk, and contract/subcontract management.
Manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and schedule expectations, ensuring quality standards on deliverables.
Lead cross‑disciplinary teams to execute projects and meet client expectations.
Prepare engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, and technical specifications related to pipeline design and construction, including new‑build, replacement, and upgrade projects.
Develop construction drawing packages and contractor specifications for mid‑stream oil and gas pipeline projects.
Oversee, supervise, and mentor junior engineers, civil designers, and drafting technicians.
Provide senior review of project deliverables, including design basis documents, cost estimates, schedules, pipe stress analysis, and construction drawings.
Travel as needed for client meetings, site visits, and other business locations.
Drive personal and rental vehicles to client or company project sites as required.
Education and Licensure
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (civil or mechanical) – required.
Advanced degree in the same field – preferred.
Professional engineer certification – required.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
At least 8 years of directly relevant experience in a pipeline engineering consulting environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience – required.
Ability to succeed in a fast‑paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed – required.
Experience managing overall project delivery, including planning, controls, financial management, change, risk, and contract/subcontract management – required.
Working knowledge of applicable design codes and standards (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, 49 CFR 192, 195).
Experience with pipeline feasibility studies, route selection, alternatives analysis, development of pipeline design basis, project scope and bid documents, construction management, and as‑built drawings.
Experience with various pipeline installation techniques, including open cut, horizontal directional drilling, horizontal auger bore, and pipe ramming.
Familiarity with mid‑stream O&G integrity management programs and execution of projects within that framework.
Experience with Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development.
Strong verbal and written communication skills – required.
Knowledge of applied software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil3D, Pipeline Toolbox) and/or numerical methods using spreadsheets – preferred.
Ability to work independently and manage time and project responsibilities.
Ability to work with technically and geographically diverse teams.
Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel – required.
Excellent writing and communication skills – required.
Regular fieldwork and overnight travel – required.
Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client‑driven drug and background testing may be required.
