The

EHS Specialist

will assure legal compliance with federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations while fostering a culture of safety and sustainability. The person will assess and minimize the risk of injury to Schneider Electric employees, visitors, contractors and liabilities arising from accidents or environmental exposures in or associated with the workplace in our Secure Power Testing Facility. Your leadership will also contribute significantly to the well‑being of our employees and the satisfaction of our customers.

What will you do?

Enforce compliance with EHS policies, programs, and standards, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations.

Conduct audits and inspections, identify non‑compliance, and recommend sustainable corrective actions. Monitor and drive completion of the identified corrective actions.

Provide monthly safety training, including new‑hire orientation training, contractors and customers safety orientation.

Investigate injuries, near misses, conditions, and incidents to discover root causes and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.

Implement the ergonomic plan at the facility to help identify methods to prevent musculoskeletal disorders injuries.

Lead the plant emergency response team.

Lead the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 of the site to guarantee compliance with the standards.

Work with production and management to foster a safety culture.

Develop and implement all relevant electrical safety & LOTO standards for the site in conjunction with group standards.

Train and enforce compliance of Arc Flash, Electrical Shock hazard and first aid.

Lead the waste management programs including hazardous and non‑hazardous material such as scrap metals, e‑waste, cardboard, pallets, Li‑ON batteries, precious metals and returned units.

Establish strong networking with government agencies such as the fire department, OC police, and water/storm district.

Develop training matrix and ensure suitable training and education programs are rolled out for the prevention of injuries.

Make sure risk assessment is available for all high‑risk activities.

Who will you report to? This onsite role reports to the Plant Manager, based at our Costa Mesa, CA facility. Initially (during the first 3‑4 months), 50% of your time will also support our Distribution Center in Chino, CA. After that period, 100% of your time and onsite support will remain at the Costa Mesa, CA location.

Compensation and benefits For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $84,000 – $126,000 per year, including base pay and short‑term incentive. The full‑time salary range applies to candidates located within the United States and is determined by role, responsibility and level. What qualifications and skills will make you successful?

Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, safety or a relevant field (or equivalent experience). ASP or CSP (CSP Preferred).

3+ years of experience in EHS within a manufacturing & testing environment.

Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA and other relevant regulations.

Understanding of ergonomics and methods to prevent musculoskeletal disorder injuries.

Experience in facilitating in‑house training programs.

Experience conducting accident and incident investigations.

Electrical testing and training background preferred.

Good knowledge of energy management.

Ability to communicate, organize and work with top management, project managers and VIP customers.

Effective change transformation agent leading in the digital era.

Strong ability to facilitate and lead meetings with business stakeholders (project managers, sales account managers, project coordinators, inside sales, field service managers).
