What to Expect
This position will work as a member of the Safety and Restraints team with the primary objectives to support the design and implementation of passive safety systems in new vehicles. The successful candidate for this position must have a strong engineering fundamentals background preferably with a strength in passive safety, data aquisition and/or data analysis.
What You’ll Do
Design and optimize mechanical components of pedestrian and occupant restraint systems
Determine optimal locations and mounting arrangements for transducers and ECUs
Collaborate with the CAE group to develop structures that ensure desired system performance
Support the development of restraint systems, including deployment timing and coordination to minimize injury and ensure legal compliance
Assist in developing and maintaining a database using Python, MySQL, and MATLAB
Contribute to the creation of tools for quantifying injury assessment in real‑world scenarios
Provide processed data and insights to other teams to improve impact safety
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent experience
Knowledge of database management preferred
Experience with Python 3+ preferred
Understanding of basic statistics and data science principles
Ability to follow instructions via oral, written, email, and text communication
Capability to work collaboratively in a team‑based environment to achieve common goals
Skill in managing multiple priorities, organizing workload, and meeting deadlines

Expected Compensation $92,720 – $206,520/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
