The Director of Developmental Disabilities is responsible for the overall coordination, organization and ongoing development of Dominican Hall, a group home located in Goshen, NY. The Director of Developmental Disabilities will provide direct supervision to the Residence Managers, Evening Supervisors, Administrative Assistant, and Day Hab Supervisor and indirect supervision of maintenance and outside contractors.
Responsibilities The Director of Developmental Disabilities for Dominican Hall will be responsible for interviewing applicants for positions in the department and make appropriate recommendations. Review evaluations of staff and evaluate all Managers/Supervisors and oversee disciplinary actions to ensure uniformity. The Director will carry out the goals and objectives of the agency and maintain the mission of Person-Centered Planning. The Director will ensure that Programmatic Goals, Active Treatment modalities and behavior modification plans are formulated and implemented accordingly. Ensure 24-hour coverage of staff.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree Required, master’s degree preferred.
Five (5) years' Supervisory/Management experience required.
Five (5) years' Experience with Intellectual Disabilities population, QIDP Qualified.
Clinical experience preferred, especially in the area of positive behavioral approach.
Physical Requirements While performing the duties for this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate clearly and effectively. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.
