Summary The Neuropsychologist is responsible for direct patient care in the Psychology/Neuropsychology Department. Primary responsibilities are to administer, score, and interpret neuropsychological testing with patients (ages 3-18 years old). Will work closely with families/caregivers to discuss results. In addition, the Neuropsychologist supervises technicians (student externs, post-doctoral fellows, Licensed Psychological Associates, etc.).
Qualifications
PhD or PsyD in Psychology from an accredited institution.
Licensed Psychologist in the state of Texas.
An internship, or its equivalent, in a clinically relevant area of professional psychology (50% neuropsychology).
Two full-time years of pre- or post-doc experience/specialized training in neuropsychology. Two years must include supervision by a board-certified neuropsychologist.
If neuropsychologist trained before 2001, two or more years of appropriate supervised training applying neuropsychological services in a clinical setting in lieu of the 2 years pre- and post-doctoral training can be applied.
Training in child growth and development required.
Prior experience in pediatric setting, preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a desire to develop outstanding leadership skills.
Demonstrate commitment to high standards of patient care and other customer relations practice.
Basic Life Support CPR certification required prior to start.
