Position Overview Division Chief, Surgical Oncology (Associate Professor – Professor Rank) at Rutgers Cancer Institute and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Responsibilities

Oversee clinical practice, research, and mentorship in surgical oncology (GI, HPB, Melanoma/sarcoma, Breast, Endocrine).

Support collaboration and participation in cooperative group and industry‑sponsored research.

Publish scholarly work and secure external funding.

Maintain clinical activity 60‑70 % and support faculty productivity.

Lead executive‑level meetings, short‑ and long‑range planning, and recruitment of faculty and staff.

Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

MD or equivalent, board certified in general surgery and complex surgical oncology or associate‑professor‑level academic surgical oncologist.

Active NJ medical license.

Proven leadership and experience building a clinical program.

Record of a clinical research program and strong publication record of collaborative research.

Excellent teaching, mentorship, and communication skills.
