About The Role The data center industry’s premier engineering team at Riot Data Center (a Riot Platforms company) is seeking an Electrical Engineer. In this role, you will be a foundational member contributing to the technical excellence of hyperscale data center electrical systems, actively supporting the development and refinement of standards, specifications, and approval frameworks that ensure uptime and reliability across our portfolio. You’ll play a critical role in reviewing and coordinating with internal stakeholders, external design teams, consultants, vendors, and contractors to deliver world‑class electrical infrastructure optimized for AI/ML workloads and mission‑critical operations.
This position will be based in our Denver office. Relocation assistance available for non‑local candidates.
What You’ll Do
Review and assist in developing electrical drawings, specifications, and standards to ensure optimal system performance and uptime. Help prepare documentation for design reviews and approvals.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, consultants, vendors, and contractors to align on design goals, technical requirements, and deliverables.
Support QA/QC processes, review submittals, and contribute to commissioning documentation to ensure every project meets our high standards.
Learn and apply key industry standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE), gain hands‑on experience with electrical analysis tools and software, and participate in training and technical workshops.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
4+ years of electrical engineering experience. Data center or mission‑critical facilities experience is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Solid understanding of electrical design principles and power distribution systems.
Familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE).
Exposure to design and project tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, Procore, or CX Alloy.
Personal Attributes:
Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
